Over the weekend I enjoyed my first pontoon boat ride. Why have I never been on a pontoon you ask? I have no idea. I love them, they are a lot more comfy/less scary than a regular boat and miles better than a canoe. I felt safe and I could relax. It was not only my first pontoon ride, but it was also my son's first boat ride ever. Yep, he rode like a champ, he felt so relaxed he decided to take a nap. We had a great time and got to see some sights we would have never seen before. Check out these photos of this train bridge with a turn table on it. It was insane and can only be seen when you are on the lake. This bridge was so old and rusty, I'd hate to be under it when a train went by! If that were the case, I highly doubt any type of boat would be safe. Whew! What a wonderful weekend. I will be getting to my giveaway shortly. Some unexpected family circumstances have come up and there has been a delay, but mark my words, it is coming. Have a wonderful day everyone!
It's Monday, so the world didn't end over the weekend. I wasn't too worried that it would, considering it hasn't in a really, really long time, and if it ever did I honestly don't think anyone will know what is going to happen previously. So yeah, we are all still here. Yay! There was a time when I honestly could have said I didn't care either way. I am a very sensitive person and for a long time this world's evils would get to me, so much in fact that I hoped the world would end just so I wouldn't have to hear or see of another injustice. It is so easy to get caught up in things that are dark, scary and disturbing. We are surrounded by stories of child abuse, murders, disease. It makes hearts and minds grow weary and can consume the soul.
I am happy to say things have changed for me. I wish I could say the world has changed, but nope, just my life and view has been altered. All it took was one little blond hair, blue-eyed boy to change my mind. I am now a mother and I really want to be here with my baby to watch him grow and learn, to teach him and protect him, and to show him all that is beautiful in this world. Because as daunting as the world can seem, there is equally as much beauty, if not more, I just think it is taken for granted and easily forgotten.
Have you taken the time yet this Spring, to walk around your yard or park to see all of the blooms and flowers? Have you watched a butterfly in flight or quietly listened to the rain on your roof? If not I would encourage you to do so. Search for the beautiful in this World. Spring is a magical time, full of hope and promise. This brown world, is once again green, growing and living with energy. It is amazing. As long as we are still here, as ridiculous as this doomsday prediction was, we should definitely take some time to appreciate all the beauty around us.
Be conscious as you go about your day and try and find something that makes your heart flood with happiness and beauty.
I had the honor of taking some photos for some of my friends the other day. They are expecting a girl and have the perfect nursery waiting for her! How blessed this little girl will be to have such loving parents. I can't wait for her arrival! Stay tuned for newborn photos!~
I really like when I receive comments from friends and strangers on my website. I value every one's opinion and I enjoy hearing (or should I say reading?) what other people have to say. I don't mind criticism either, I think I handle it pretty well, so I like HONEST opinions. I mean my policy is honesty is always best, in every situation...well, at least in my life. I find if I don't want to be honest about something then I probably shouldn't have done that "thing" in the first place. (ie. I probably shouldn't have bid on that bag on Ebay, after lecturing my husband about our finances...whoops!)
But ANYWAYS, my main point of this email is to let my comments love be known to any reader out there. Please comment...go ahead, call me the "crazy sprout lady" or tell me you like my design or tell me that you think I over-edited that photo. Comment, comment, comment. I appreciate them all. Every comment you have could possibly make me a better designer, photographer or... sprout grower (lol, just kidding, well, kind of, if you know anything about sprouts hit me up, I love 'em)-- So yeah, Comment people!
The second point of this blog is to complain about comment sections on pretty much any news story out there. If you click on any of the rotating stories that appear on Yahoo, or if you visit any newspaper online and read the articles, there will always be a "comment" section where everyone-and-their-mother can type out their opinion of the story. Have you ever read those? If you have, do they leave you feeling like you need a shower because people in this world can be so ignorant and hurtful, and you just want to wash away everything you just read for fear it is seeping deep into your pores and forever changing your view of this world..........or is that just me?
I really don't know why I continue to read comments sections, when every single one I read (no matter how insignificant the story may be) ends up making me feel like this world is coming to an end. In every comment thread I have ever read there will always be all of the following:
1. Political reference that spurs some debate
2. An ignorant jerk that just likes to stir the drama
3. Someone that says, "okay, that's enough guys" or "let's just agree to disagree"
4. A person advertising some naughty online webchat or home business where they "make millions"
5. The people that repost the same comment someone else wrote
6. The USA bashers (who may or may not live in the USA)
7. The really funny and all-too-relevant one liners regarding the story
8. A sad, sad story that somehow relates to the topic
9. and a number of other comments that make my skin crawl with disgust.
People online can often hide behind their autonomy, so they feel they can say anything they want...and they do. What's worse, they feel they know it all and their opinion is so important that they simply must type it out for the world to see. It doesn't matter if they are offending people or calling names, it doesn't matter that there might be two sides to the story, all that matters is what they know and that someone else is most likely critisizing what they know. Most of the comment sections spark such debate that the comments aren't even about the story anymore, they are a tirade of political stabs at the "other side" or tear inducing back and forth arguments that simply go no where. People are comment crazy. Sometimes the stories are written to provoke arguments and horrid comments, but other times people go crazy on the simplest stories. Some people can be passionate about the weirdest things.
So to sum this all up...please feel free to leave any and all comments on my page about whatever your little heart desires because I will read each and every one of them...and if you are super bored some time, just click on any Yahoo story and read the comments...and then come back here and tell me I'm right. I'll be here to remind you that humanity is not actually as ruthless as all of those comments make it out to be...
I'm an open book. I can be too honest for my own good. Maybe a blog isn't the best idea for a person like me, but I can be quite entertaining at times. Plus, a blog is good for search engine rankings...lol, I'm such a nerd!
